In case there are doubters out there who think I exaggerate the sad state of education in this country — especially higher education with which I am more familiar — there is this to think about: The University of Wisconsin offers a graduate degree in glass blowing. I kid you not!
Seriously, folks, let’s not confuse education with vocational training!

It beggars belief, eh??
The only excuse I can think of for that would be it fell into a field of the Arts. Even then, why on earth would just glass blowing be separated for that degree. Why don’t you write to the university and ask them? If they’re trying to promote the degree they’ll probably tell you. Then you can let the rest of us know. 🙂 — Suzanne
I may do that. They see to be very proud of the degree as they had a spot on a national broadcast of a football game highlighting the degree — complete with comments from present graduate students.
